Super Sticky Buns

January 6, 2009

We’re back from our Christmas vacation and all the decorations have been put away. I’ve been planning on writing daily but I’m just so out of the habit that I haven’t seemed to be able to get it done so I’d thought I wean myself back into it by posting a recipie. I wanted to make something special for breakfast on our first morning back but we had NO groceries, so I ran to Save-a-lot and bought a couple of tins of cinnamon rolls and came up with this quick fix.

Open a can of cinnamon rolls (set aside icing for later), unroll them and sprinkle with brown sugar, cinnamon, & chopped pecans. Re-roll and set out flat in a warm place so they can rise.

In a small saucepan mix together

  • 1/2c. brown sugar
  •  1/4c butter
  •  tsp. cinnamon
  • tsp. nutmeg,
  • squeeze in icing packet and mix until melted.

Pour into the bottom of a pie plate, sprinkle with chopped pecans, and arrange the cinnamon rolls on top. Stick in a 375* oven for 20 min. Let sit for a couple of minutes then turn out onto a plate.
