How do you know your in the Bible Belt? The first thing you see when you enter town is a list of churches. Let me remind you it’s a town of 10,000 and these are just the churches with enough money to put their name on a billboard. Now how do you know your in Oklahoma…winter wheat, oil, cotton, and cattle.

I did a lot of things I’ve been meaning to do while on this trip. I took Grey to Daddy’s grave (he’s named after Lawrence Jackson Stockton). I went and stayed the night with my Grandmother. I got to see my sister’s new houses. I played with my neice and nephews. I had my mom teach me how to read a pattern (and I made a really cool apron). And best of all I got to love on my family!

Happy Birthday Micah

November 14, 2007 · 3 Comments

Today is Micah’s 27th birthday! I’m so sad that we can’t be with him today. Instead we are in Oklahoma spending time with my family which is a gift that he gave to me for his birthday. I have the sweetest, most selfless, amazing husband!

Happy birthday dear, I hope it’s a good day.

(sorry the video has such bad lighting but Gentry didn’t want to come out of the pantry)

Cute but Rotten Kids

November 5, 2007 · 2 Comments

We had our family pictures taken yesterday. I wanted to take a few pics before we left the house just for my own and they were about as successful as they ones the photographer got. Holy Crap! the boys were awful. They wouldn’t look, Gentry cried most of the time, Grey threw rocks and refused to look at the camera. We spent an hour on a country road taking pictures and I don’t know if she got any usable shots. It was so frustrating!

Feed the Hungry

November 5, 2007 · 1 Comment

We went to the Salvation Army this weekend for their Fall Festival. They put up games and bring in pumpkins for families that are struggling or homeless. The kids were so precious. Grey had a blast playing with all the boys. This little boy stole my heart, his smile was just amazing! I also love the pic of the baby with a mohawk, his mom said his hair grew in that way. Micah made friends with a couple of old ladies who he sat and gabbed with for almost an hour.

We had a really great time but it was pretty heartbreaking to see these women who had up to 5 children and they were homeless and hungry. These babies were so precious and they were all in clothes, shoes, and jackets that were no were near their size. The women looked tired, but some of them were still so joyful, you could tell they were really leaning on the Lord and getting joy from him. It was an overall great experience that we as a family will do again.
